Gender is everywhere. It's a predominate schema of how we see ourselves and others. Yet, gender is commonly misunderstood. This book discussion will use Killermann's A Guide to Gender to explore gender through a social justice perspective and strengthen our respect and competence in diversity of identity.

A Guide to Gender book discussion is facilitated by Amy Kroll. This interactive book discussion is for working and student interpreters.

CEUs & Time Commitment
​
Amy Kroll is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities. This Power, Privilege, and Oppression (PPO) / Professional Studies (PS) program is offered for 1.5 CEUs at the Little Content Knowledge Level.
​
You should plan on two (2) hours of independent reading and reflection per week in addition to the two (2) hours on Saturday for group interactions.
​
Dates & Location
This book discussion is 5 weeks in length. It starts on March 10th (Sunday) and ends on April 13th (Saturday).
​
Each week (Sunday-Friday), you will be assigned chapters for independent reading and reflection. At the conclusion of the week (Saturdays), you will meet together with other participants for a facilitated discussion of our collective learning.
​
Saturday Meetings are on 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, & 4/13 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Dazbog (556 N Lincoln Ave, Loveland, CO 80537)

Costs
​
You have two costs associated with this book discussion: 1) the book discussion fee and 2) the cost of the book.
Book Discussion Fee:
$75 payable to Amy Kroll. Payment options will be presented with confirmation of your registration.
​
A full refund will be offered through original payment source for cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the first day of the book discussion. No refunds are offered after this 24 hour cut off.​
​
Cost of the Book:
​
You are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book for the duration of the book discussion. Online retailers sell print and eBook editions. Local libraries may have copies available.
​
Registration
Submit your registration form by March 7th, 2019.
Requests for reasonable accommodations can be made on the registration form.
