This book discussion is currently closed. Hope you can join the next one.

Gender is everywhere. It's a predominate schema of how we see ourselves and others. Yet, gender is commonly misunderstood. This book discussion will use Killermann's A Guide to Gender to explore gender through a social justice perspective and strengthen our respect and competence in diversity of identity.

A Guide to Gender book discussion is facilitated by Amy Kroll. This interactive book discussion is for working and student interpreters.

By the end of this book discussion, you will be able to...

  • Compare personal schema on gender (pre and post book discussion)

  • Discuss gender from an identity/diversity and social justice perspective

  • Discuss gender stereotypes and the cycle of oppression along with their historical/current presence in the Deaf and interpreting Communities
