Chapter Discussion on Sensibility & Ethics

Decision making is the cognitive process of selecting a course of action from several possible alternatives. It's a process based on the decision-maker's values and beliefs. This chapter discussion will use Hoza's Toward an Interpreter Sensibility: Three Levels of Ethical Analysis and a Comprehensive Model of Ethical Decision-Making for Interpreters to explore the ethical decision-making process of interpreters. The book chapter will highlight multiple areas of ethics, differentiate ethical decisions from other kinds of decisions, explain moral analysis, and explore two models of decision-making to the work of interpreters.
